John Pisano - Producer/Drummer

John began his musical adventure, on the trumpet at the age of 8. By 10, he realized that drums were his true passion and begged his mom for a swap meet snare drum. John grew up in the early Orange County punk scene, playing with the likes of TSOL, The Crowd and Mike Ness. At 18, John traded in the punk lifestyle for a 4 year Navy stint and a world tour.

As the president of welfare and recreation for his command, John realized that he had a knack for event planning and combined his love for music with his flair for management. John played drums and managed the San Diego band Hate Romance in 1990 during the height of the San Diego music explosion , resulting in a development opportunity with Sony in 1994. Hate Romance played with The Spin Doctors, Blind Mellon and was booked with Smashing Pumpkins, among others.

John started Jukebox in in 2006, with the goal of creating a fun and exciting professional band that would have the energy of a live band with the versatility of a DJ. "We were competing heavily with DJ's at the time and I realized that by putting together a live band with a DJ, we could eliminate the debate!"

Ken Hoelscher - Producer/Keyboards/DJ

Ken Hoelscher began his music career very early. At nine years old he was performing live on the piano for a local TV show. It was also about this time that he begin learning other musical instruments. By the time he was in high school he was playing in local bands and concerts all over San Diego. By the time he was in college at San Diego State he was an extra with the San Diego Symphony, and a conductor for three broadway shows.

In 1987 he left the classics behind and went back to his roots - the piano, playing rock and roll and 80’s pop. For the last 30 years he has been a songwriter, producer, studio session player, and performer playing in over 3500 shows and working with a variety of celebrity artists including:

John Elefante (singer for Kansas)

Jeff Lams (keyboardist for Donna Summers)

Roni Lee (guitarist for Venus and the Razorblades)

Jennifer Baton (guitarist for Michael Jackson)

Jeff Kathan (drummer for Paul Rogers, Free, Bad Company)

and many other artist all over southern California.

Ken joined Jukebox in the Summer of 2010 heading up all of the audio and lighting. Since then he has helped build what is now a solid and compact state of the art sound and lighting system that helps make the Jukebox sound so tight and realistic - you actually think you are listening to the recording. In 2016, Ken left the world of the mixing board behind to come back on stage as Musical Director, Keyboardist and DJ forJukebox.

Steve Langdon - Guitarist

Steve was born and educated in San Diego. His musical influences range from Heavy Metal to Jazz and Classical. He started playing music at 5 years old with the violin in orchestras and festivals, moving on to accordion by age 9 and upon hearing the Beatles at age 12, he picked up the guitar and "hasn't put it down since". He's studied music all his life including college, toured both nationally and internationally and recorded with and for many Grammy winning artists including Roy Z, Tom Pick, Anthony Davis and Dan Mahar. He has also been nominated by San Diego Music Awards for producing, playing, recording and mastering.

Steve was an intricate part of the hard rock/metal movement that started in San Diego and Los Angeles in the late 70's/ early 80's playing legendary clubs like the Starwood, Whiskey and Troubadour, making movies and records during that time. Steve is the owner of Langdon Productions, a music teacher of theory, guitar, piano, banjo, mandolin, dobro, bass and uke. With an awesome one man show, you can find him performing solo at O'Hungrys and Effin pubs. As the guitarist for Jukebox, Steve is the color and power that makes the music pop!

John Thomas - Bassist

John hails from the little known town of Corry Pennsylvania. He moved to San Diego with his family at the tender age of 4, and the state has not recovered to this day. John began his musical career when he was just a wee lad, making his mark on the industry as a constant irritant to his piano teacher. From there, he gained fame as a trombonist at his Jr & Sr HS as well as his college Alma Matter, SDSU.

During his stint as a player with the Christian Rock outfit NO SECRET, and later with local sensations INSIDE OUT, John made a huge impression with his on-stage flair, penchant for playing, and aptitude for the technical aspects of a live performance. John started with Jukebox in 2010, managing the “behind the scenes” team of sound men and stage hands but now holds down the bottom end like a thumping piston! John has become an integral part of the Jukebox team and we are lucky to have him!

David Otero - DJ Extrodiniare

David (DJ Simple) comes from a musical family and found early on that he had a knack for entertaining a crowd. At the age of 12 Simple picked up a trumpet and quickly learned to read, write and compose. He parlayed those skills into public performances where he learned about production, sound, lighting and emceeing. Simple says “ Performing opened my eyes to the world of production.” He also notes “Maybe most importantly, Emceeing gave me a unique platform for learning to read a crowd”

Fast forward to 2005, DJ Simple and his brother Manny (also a talented local DJ) began producing and directing professional events for name brand companies including the San Diego Chargers, Sea World and Anheuser Busch. After 10 years of successful event Production as a DJ, Emcee and production coordinator, Simple finds himself for the first time as a member of a band (Jukebox).

Jukebox is a unique opportunity for me to use all of my skills. It's a prominent spot with a lot of responsibility and really big shoes to fill!

As the DJ with Jukebox, Simple mixes, fills, sings, raps, plays percussion, directs, Emcees and hypes. He also assists with sound and lighting as well as client interaction and planning.
